The Digital India Programme is the Government of India's initiative to transform the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. It aims to transform the ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology. Some important projects include eSignatures, unleash the usage of e-documents, e-scholarship portal, Digital India platform, Broadband highways, centre of excellence on Internet of things, electronic delivery of services and others.
By 2019, the government aims to bring broadband services to 2.5 lakh villages and 4 lakh public internet access points. It expects India to be the leader in the use of information technology in health, education and banking. It also aims to increase employment by leaps and bounds using digital inclusion as a leveraging factor.
Going forward, successful implementation of this programme can empower India and its youth exponentially. This theme consists of good quality companies which are expected to benefit the most from policies of Digital India programme.
